Victoria & South Australia

Overview

Victoria & South Australia

Bursting with history, culture and food, Melbourne can boast that it is not only the cultural capital of Australia but also that it is one of the world's greatest cities, an accolade that belies its 175-year old existence. In Melbourne you can explore historic lanes and arcades lined with restaurants, chic cafes, hidden bars boutiques and galleries. Melbourne also serves as a great base from which to explore regional Victoria, with all the major 'must sees' within a three-hour drive.

Adelaide is the gateway to the outback, the wine regions of the Barossa and Clare Valley, the fabulous wildlife of Kangaroo Island and the mighty Murray River. It's also a great destination to explore in its own right with fabulous beaches, aboriginal culture and superb dining. It's easy to get around the city on foot, with all the city's main attractions within walking distance. Glenelg and the Bay are synonymous with festivals, sandy beaches and a laid-back lifestyle and are accessible on the city to bay tram.

South Australia’s Barossa Valley is one of Australia’s oldest and the world's finest wine producing regions. First settled in 1842 by European immigrants, it still retains its old-world charm. There are around 150 wineries and cellar doors in the Barossa Valley. The Barossa Valley is also renowned for its fresh seasonal produce, artisan food producers and award-winning restaurants. Drive the Barossa’s food and wine trails or explore the countryside by bicycle.

If you want to enjoy extraordinary wildlife encounters, excellent local produce and warm hospitality, then Kangaroo Island is a destination without equal. Your two-day small group tour allows you to get up close and personal with sea lions, fur seals, endemic kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, platypus and over 260 bird species, in the company of exceptional rangers who are focused on showing you the best that Australia's very own Galapagos has to offer.
