Days 1 - 8: Marina di Capitana near Cagliari
Your hotel, situated at Marina di Capitana, is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. With a tempting outdoor pool, direct access to the beach, a choice of restaurants and an excellent spa with a wide range of facilities and treatments on offer, you’ll quickly find yourself slowing to the infectious Italian pace.
When you feel you want to get out and about, and see more of this delightful island, you’ll be in the ideal location to do so as your hotel is situated equidistant between Cagliari and Villasimius. Your Tour Manager will always be on hand to answer your questions and point you in the direction of the best sights.
Cagliari, the island’s capital, was largely shaped by the Phoenicians, yet a modern Italian influence is evident in much of the architecture that you will see as you stroll around the bustling streets. As the capital city, Cagliari is one of the island’s hotspots, yet its busy streets and harbour in no way detract from its beauty. A walking tour in the company of a Local Guide and your travelling companions will introduce you to its many highlights. Stroll through the marbled streets, browse in the upmarket shops and linger in the marina.
History has shaped the island over thousands of years and away from the pretty coastline and pleasant towns you will discover a wealth of ancient history. The ancient tombs of Nuraghi at Barumini date back over 3,500 years - your Local Guide will explain the intricacies of the site. We then move on to the Phoenician ruins at Nora which display the remains of an ancient Roman city. Pause and soak up the immensity of the area in the company of your fellow travellers.
Your holiday has been created to allow time to explore and time to relax. We’ve included a range of excursions and there is a choice of optional excursions should you wish to explore further.
