Symphony of the Seas Revisited

Symphony of the Seas 21st May 2018: Over the next six years, Royal Caribbean® will launch five new ships starting with their fourth 'Oasis Class' vessel, Symphony of the Seas. Recently launched, Symphony of the Seas is currently the world's largest cruise ship carrying 5,479 passengers across 16 decks. Managing Director, Miles Morgan revisited Symphony of the Seas in Malaga just before it took its maiden voyage. Miles shares with us some of the truly outstanding features guests can look forward to during their time on board.

Central Park

With over 12,000 shrubs and trees craned in to adorn Symphony's Central Park as well as the addition of birdsong, Central Park is almost unrecognisable from Miles' last visit.

Virtual Balcony

Symphony of the Seas takes a different approach to its inside cabin design having introduced state-of-the-art virtual balconies. Virtual balconies allow guests to choose from an array of real-time footage and display their chosen view on their very own high-definition, almost floor-to-ceiling screen, bringing the best of the outside, inside.

Royal Suite

Set across two floors, the Royal Suite on board Symphony of the Seas is just one of the ship's impressive suites. The suite comes with a 'Royal Genie', a specially trained crew member to help you make the most of their time on board. With double-height windows, a lounge area, an area to entertain, grand piano, possible one of the most impressive bathrooms on board and equally as impressive views, the Royal Suite is certainly lives up to its name.

Star Loft Suite

Contemporary in design, spacious and completed by stunning balcony space, the Star Loft Suite is another amazing space on board the vessel. Like it's sister suites, the Star Loft Suite also provides guests with their own personal 'Royal Genie' as well as many other complimentary services including; VOOM Wi-Fi, speciality dining at all speciality restaurants, suite-lounge access, priority entrance to many on-board activities and many more.

Ultimate Family Suite

With only one available on board and fully booked up for the next year, the Ultimate Family Suite is a truly sensational room on board the ship. Set across two storeys and joined not only by a staircase but also by a full-sized children's slide, the 1,350 m2 suite has a wrap-around balcony and arguably the best views on ship. The Ultimate Family Suite sleeps up to eight people and includes everything from a 3D-cinema room with popcorn machine, in-room slide, Lego wall, air-hockey table, balcony whirlpool and more, so guests will always have something to keep them entertained. The suite, like other Royal Suites also comes with its own 'Royal Genie'.

Coastal Kitchen

Exclusive to those staying in a Grande Suite or above, the Mediterranean themed Coastal Kitchen provides guests with tantalising cuisine like Serrano ham, whipped goat cheese and roasted grapes. A firm favourite with guests and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Coastal Kitchen can be found on-board Allure, Anthem, Harmony, Oasis, Ovation and Quantum of the Seas as well as Symphony of the Seas.

Musical Steps

Royal Caribbean® have certainly thought of everything and it's little touches like the addition of musical steps proves Royal Caribbean® has gone above and beyond when it comes to enhancing guest's experience on board.

Ice Rink

As noted in my previous visit, not only will the rink provide guests with stunning ice shows, lighting above the rink will also provide stunning visual effects as the skating professionals perform. It's clear to see the visual effects which can be projected onto the ice are truly magnificent and, will no doubt enhance the audience's experience whilst watching a show. Guests will also be able to enjoy a skate themselves, all abilities are welcome.

Final Thoughts

From the videos above, I'm sure you'll agree the scale of Symphony of the Seas is truly amazing. Detailed above are just a handful of incredible features this ship possesses. In my opinion, there's no doubt that Symphony of the Seas is an outstanding ship and is sure to provide holidaymakers with an exciting, innovative and forward-thinking cruise experience. Having now seen the vessel fully completed and having experienced much of what Symphony of the Seas has to offer, there really is something for everyone. While Symphony of the Seas may not be ideal for everyone, it certainly offers those who love a lively and energetic cruise experience just that. Cruising the Mediterranean until October, Symphony of the Seas will then move overseas and cruise the Caribbean for the remainder of the season. Wherever you choose to cruise, Symphony of the Seas is sure to provide you with incredible, life-long memories.
