Tracey enjoys a warm welcome at the Canonnier

First Impressions

Date:26/06/2018

When we arrived at the Canonnier resort I was just wowed! The resort has just had a major refurbishment and is stunning from the moment you step off the coach.

The décor is clean, fresh and incredibly stylish, you are greeted with a nice refreshing drink and a cold towel that is infused with the most beautiful scent, which I later discovered is the “Beachcomber scent” and is everywhere.

Entering my room was complete joy, it was stunning, again it was very fresh, light, stylish, lots of storage space and very spacious, I had a garden view and had an abundance of palm trees and stunning flowers as my view, but I could also here the waterfall (which happens to be one of my favourite sounds) so I was very happy.

The resort has a very tropical, calming, relaxing vibe, with a great pool area which has a pool for all and a decent size kids pool. There are hammocks, giant bean bags by the bar area for everyone to enjoy, which only add to the serene atmosphere the resort creates.

The open air bar area is welcoming and calming with the waterfall directly behind it, an abundance of luscious palm trees and stunning flora to create the tranquil atmosphere for you to enjoy your favourite cocktail or tipple, they have a vast range of delicious cocktails, wines, spirits and beers and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy on the menu.
The beach is stunning at this resort and the water is crystal clear and so blue, it is a bit breezier on one side of the resort than the other.

There is a beautiful wedding Gazebo directly on the beach with stunning views and is overlooked by the Navigator restaurant and bar which whoever is lucky to have a wedding here would have stunning photos.

Restaurants and activites

The food is amazing in this resort. There is a buffet restaurant and 2 a la carte restaurants.

We ate at the buffet restaurant for lunch, there was a varied choice and then ate at the Italian a la carte for our evening meal which was just amazing.

The stunning Navigator restaurant has stunning views overlooking the sea, you can eat outside on the terrace also here if you like. They have a disco here at the Navigator also, with a very good DJ.

Breakfast we had at the buffet also and there was again a varied choice.

Guests can also enjoy the restaurants and facilities at 2 other Beachcomber resorts within the area which is the Mauricia and the Victoria.

Activities and Children’s Facilities

There is a boat house at the resort that includes complimentary activities such as glass bottom boat, pedaloes and paddle boards just to name a few.

There is a kids club and teen club at the resort, the kids club is housed in the old fort on the resort which is just stunning, they were near completion of the new area for the kids club and teen club complete with a fab tree house.

There is also a baby room which really impressed me, this is a quite room filled with everything you need to see to your baby including sterilising equipment, changing facilities, even a fridge filled with milk, water, fruit and snacks which is all free of charge whether you are on half board or all inclusive at the resort.

Also on offer is a baby sitting service at a supplement.

Spa

There is also a spa which is located inside the giant banyon tree, again wow!! From the spa reception you can climb some volcanic rocks as steps leading you to your massage cabin, where you are in total privacy with an outside shower.

There is an array of spa treatments to choose from to help you relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Golfing

Guests here will get special rates on a few different golf courses if they are keen golfer.

Mont Choisy golf course has not long been opened and they can also get privileged access to the Paradis golf course to name a few.

Final Thoughts

In summary this hotel is stunning and a really great choice for an idyllic, tropical holiday in paradise. With a varied assortment of activities, spa treatments, restaurants & space this hotel has it all.
