Begin your cruise in Southampton
Day 2 & 3: At Sea
Day 4: Warnemunde, Germany
Glimpse into this resort's fishing village origins at the Warnemunde Local History Museum housed in an 18th century cottage, or admire its beautiful brick lighthouse
Day 5: At Sea
Day 6: Helsinki, Finland
Sail in past the island fortress of Suomenlinna to Finland's clean, bustling capital. Gaze at the neo-classical architecture of Senate Square and the copper dome of Rock Church. Shop along the Esplanade for Finnish crafts. Or visit architect Saarinen's studio.
Day 7 & 8: St Petersburg, Russia
Russia’s great imperial city, St. Petersburg cannot fail to leave a lasting impression on all who visit. A wonderful opportunity to discover this jewel in the Tsarist crown which still sparkles as brightly as ever. From the magnificent Winter Palace to the Hermitage and the Peter and Paul Museum, a visit to St. Petersburg is a truly classic experience.
Day 9: Tallinn, Estonia
With preserved medieval walls, cobbled squares and towering spires, Tallinn is a fairytale city. Walk the walls and view the towers with fanciful names like "Fat Margaret" and "Peek in the Kitchen." See a colourful folk dance and perhaps shop for fine leather-bound books - a speciality.
Day 10: Riga, Latvia
Sitting on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava, Riga is the enchanting capital of Latvia, and the largest city among the Baltic States, which you can visit on certain cruise itineraries around Baltic shores. Having occupied the site since 1201 when it was a base for German knights, Riga then flourished as a member of the Hanseatic League for three centuries. Having later been part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, then the Swedish and Russian empires, Riga has more than a few stories to tell.
Day 11: At Sea
Day 12: Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen was founded during the 12th century. So much is new and striking, so much richly traditional – from the ramparts of Hamlet’s Elsinore to the very latest examples of Scandinavian design. Copenhagen literally takes your breath away. Be wowed by the Amalienborg Palace, Christiana’s hippy commune and the delightfully relaxing Tivoli Gardens.
