Been There - Margaret Ablitt

I began my Norwegian adventure with Hurtigruten Cruises by flying North across the Arctic Circle toTromso. We boarded the M.S .Polarys and set sail for a 4 night voyage from Tromso to Trondheim calling in at 14 ports. Some are tiny villages with remote communities where the boat stops for just 20 minutes to deliver or take on post. Other ports may be larger towns where we stopped for 2 hours or more , time to explore the fascinating area. All the time we travelled along this beautiful coastline, through magical fjords to enchanted islands like the stunning Lofoten Islands, where it became easy to believe the folk tales of trolls in this magical land.

The public rooms on board are comfortable and attractive. The cabins are more basic but with everything you need for comfort. The dining room is the main meeting point on board and always sociable. Meals consist of interesting Norwegian delicacies. There is a friendly bar and a convenient shop and a large viewing lounge to appreciate the scenery.
