A wonderful 45-minute seaplane flight from Male airport takes you to the fine white sand beaches of the southern tip of Noonu Atoll and the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi resort, one of the few luxury resorts in the Maldives to feature a children's club. Noonu Atoll is renowned for its spectacular dive site and is home to spinner dolphins, reef sharks and abundant coral life.

Clean contemporary guest bedrooms, consisting of thatched beach villas tucked away amongst 52 acres of abundant vegetation and water villas with glass panel floors built over the lagoon, give a choice of sunrise or sunset views. The two-storey Celebrity Retreat comes complete with its private beach and spa, and butler service 24/7.

The property has no fewer than 14 restaurants covering everything from contemporary French and Italian cuisine to Asian, Middle Eastern and Japanese. Buffet dinners include French, Maldivian, Indonesian, Mediterranean, Indian and Chinese cuisine. Breakfast features a vast selection of fresh food served in a domed food court with separate family area.

The Balinese-style spa is set amongst the forest vegetation, and there's a 24/7 gym and free weekly yoga sessions. Two infinity pools one adults-only complement a dive centre which offers complimentary masks and flippers for snorkelling. Evening entertainment consists of live music, DJs and traditional bodu-beru evenings of dancers and drummers.
