All about Ruth

Having worked for many years as a Foreign Exchange Specialist, I joined Miles Morgan Travel in May 2023. Here in the Portishead branch, I work with a great team and I love helping new and returning customers with their currency needs: we always stock euros and US dollars, and I’m able to order any currency required. In terms of my own travel adventures, cruising is a particular passion of mine. It began when my husband and I treated ourselves to a Mediterranean cruise several years ago for our silver wedding anniversary: it was an amazing chance to explore many iconic cities and experience an array of different European cultures. We fell in love with cruising and since then, we’ve sailed the Norwegian Fjords and up into the Arctic Circle, as well as multiple voyages around the Caribbean. Waking up to a different destination each day surrounded by crystal clear waters and gazing at the gorgeous beaches from the top deck of the ship with a cocktail in hand, is my idea of bliss. There are still so many tempting itineraries we haven’t done across the world, and I’m excited to see where we’ll end up next!

Back on land, I love jetting off to destinations I’ve never been to before, and sampling what these places have to offer. In 2023, we went to Rhodes for the first time, which we thoroughly enjoyed: the walled city is steeped in history, and both the shopping and dining scenes are brilliant. We wouldn’t hesitate to return! Later in the year, we went to Lapland with our grandchildren, which was a magical place, and it was wonderful to see their faces when they met Father Christmas in person.
