With direct access to the pebbled shore and turquoise waters of Ialyssos Beach, locations don't come much better than this. The resort centre – which is just a short stroll away – has got plenty of buzz about it if that's what you're after. Expect cosy local tavernas, late bars, and plenty of charming shops well worth a ramble around.

Back at the hotel, meanwhile, you can kick back and relax, away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel is split into two separate wings, one newly renovated wing that's pulled up to the shore and then a second garden wing that's tucked away across a small rural road for even more peace and quiet. Whichever one you stay in, you'll have access to the three outdoor pools that are dotted around the grounds, including one adults-only number that makes the perfect spot for unwinding with a cocktail. Kids are well looked after as well, they've got two dedicated swim spots of their own, plus a playground, and a kids' club that's open most days with a jam-packed schedule of fun and games. And for something to suit the whole gang, pick from the likes of tennis, mini golf, and volleyball.

Mealtimes revolve around the main restaurant, which is buffet joint that deals in generous spreads of international fare, with show cooking stations and themed evening meals that'll have you heading back for seconds. There are two à la carte restaurants that serve Mediterranean dishes and Greek Meze, while the poolside wine and coffee bar is a sophisticated spot to get your morning caffeine hit as well as your pre-dinner tipples. A second poolside spot doles out light bites during the day and moonlights as the entertainment hub, with the likes of live music a couple of nights a week.
