Full Itinerary
Day 1 - Fly UK > Geneva (or Zurich) > Zermatt
Take a flight from the UK in the morning and on arrival make your way by local train - covered by your Swiss Pass - to the car free town of Zermatt where you will spend the evening.
(Ask our Travel Specialists if you would like to extend your stay and include a trip up the Gornergrat railway for the best views of the mighty Matterhorn mountain.)
Day 2 - Glacier Express Zermatt > St Moritz
You will travel trans-Switzerland today as it’s all aboard the “slowest express train in the world”. Glacier Express trundles at 24mph for 181 miles towards your base for the next two nights, St Moritz – and at that pace there is plenty of time for you to take in the ever-changing scenery, including the magnificent Landwasser Viaduct, perfectly framed by the train’s large-scale windows.(Please note: the Glacier Express does not run from mid-October to mid December).
Day 3 - Bernina Express Round Trip - St Moritz > Tirano
Today you have your second incredible rail experience with an included round-trip to Tirano and back on the glorious Bernina Express; you’ll be spellbound as you watch the Swiss mountains and lakes give way to Italian greenery.(Please note: during winter months the Bernina Express operates on a reduced schedule and will combine regional rail services with the panoramic carriages of the Bernina Express. Ask for details.)
Day 4 - St Moritz > Zurich > Flight back to UK
Make your way to the airport today via a regional train journey with another chance to see the Landwasser Viaduct, before skirting the edges of Lakes Wellensee and Zurich as you head north for your flight home.
