A trip through the Rockies should definitely be on everybody's 'to see' list. The vast countryside and wonderful wildlife has something for everyone. Canada caters for every budget. Try a cruise from Vancouver Island where you may be as lucky as I was to see a pod of 80 orcas.

The Canadian Rockies are simply stunning, whether you take an escorted coach tour or self drive the views will take your breath away. Awe-inspiring mountains, beautiful lakes and quaint towns and the chance to see bears in the wild or visit a glacier, go hiking or fishing - so much to do, but no trip would be complete without a few days in cosmopolitan Vancouver, one of my favourite cities.

The Rockies are probably the most iconic destination in Canada, and what a beauty they are! Hiring a car gives you a chance to explore this wonderful mountain range at its best; see the bears, spot the odd Golden Eagle, or sit and watch the moose crossing a river - but don’t sit too long, they are curious animals and might just wander over to investigate and, believe me, they can be pretty scary up close and personal!! A visit to Whistler is not complete unless you've tried the outdoor Jacuzzi at Chateau Whistler, at the bottom of the slopes watching the skiers! A frozen Lake Louise is a sight to behold, all those waterfalls just frozen in time - stunning! Call me to find out more.

Toronto and Niagara Falls gave me my first taste of Canada. Enjoy the bustling Eaton Centre, Toronto's biggest shopping mall. Have a meal in the revolving rooftop restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. Take in an ice hockey game and see Toronto's Maple Leafs in action. Niagara Falls are renowned for their beauty - take in the views from a helicopter, get soaked on the Maid of the Mist or just sit back in the evening and watch the falls light up after dark.

Vancouver is a beautiful city and has a very open feel to it. Visit Gas Town and see the steam clock and Glanville market to sample a vast array of culinary delights. Venture a little out of town and take the cable car up to Grouse Mountain where you can experience a fantastic view of the city. From Vancouver board the Rocky Mountaineer for an unforgettable train journey passing some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen. In summer take a trip to the top of Blackcomb mountain and ride the peak to peak gondola, the longest un-supported gondola in the world again amazing views. I could recommend so much more for this wonderful country, pop in or give me a call.

Toronto and Niagara Falls gave me my first insight into Canada and, wow, what a holiday it was . A boat trip on the Maid of the Mist, sporting our blue ponchos, with the spray of Falls and the roar of the cascading water was truly unforgettable. In Toronto the CN tower at 553 meters high is not for the faint-hearted but is still a must-do excursion. I love Canada and hope I have inspired you to find out more, so why not give me call or pop in to the shop.

When we arrived we went straight onto the Hornblower Cruise to Niagara Falls. This is a must! You get so close to the Falls you will get wet but well worth it. They provide plastic macs that protect you fairly well. This is around a 20 minute trip - when you depart the cruise you can purchase photos to remember your experience.
