I recently spent the day in Southampton onboard the stunning Explora Journeys newest ship of Explora III. Explora Journeys allows guests to explore the Ocean State of Mind and introduces a new vision of luxury travel - one shaped by space, serenity, and the ever-changing ocean. The brand was created to deliver a transformative luxury ocean travel experience, combining the intimacy of a private yacht with modern, upscale amenities.
We started the day off with a full tour where we were able to visit a variety of categories of there all Oceanfront suites; these really do have the feel of being your own private home at sea; where generous space, natural light and uninterrupted ocean views create an atmosphere of effortless comfort.
From the spacious and beautiful designed Ocean Terrace Suites which are you starting grade of stateroom are truly remarkable and are well thought out in regards to space and providing you will all amenities you will require. However, my personal favourite was the Cove Residences with your own private whirlpool on your balcony; along with a daybed and dining table where you can sit and admire the view with your morning coffee or pre dinner drink as the sun sets.
Explora Journeys have so many inclusions from nine distinct culinary experiences, including In-Suite Dining, Unlimited beverages including fine wines, champagne, premium spirits, specialty coffees, teas and soft drinks, available anytime, including in-suite. One in-suite welcome bottle of champagne on arrival. One in-suite bottle of wine and one in-suite bottle of spirit of your preference on arrival. Access to Ocean Wellness – The Spa thermal area. Group wellness, fitness and mindfulness activities. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the ship. Authentic and intuitive service from our team of hospitality experts. Onboard gratuities and Shuttle services from port to city centre (where required / available).
I was blown away by the Emporium Marketplace as I have never seen an area with so much choice and fresh food preparation from pizza's; pasta and everything from Octopus Salad to dainty desserts. For those who like the finer aspects in life I could certainly see why The Cellar would be a popular choice as a sanctuary for wine lovers, relaxed and unpretentious, where wine is enjoyed through curiosity, easy conversation, and genuine pleasure. Alternatively, the Malt Whiskey Bar provides stunning views out to the ocean; providing a refined tour across the globe’s most celebrated whisky regions.
My favourite place onboard however was the Holistic Wellness area where you connect deeper to the Ocean State of Mind. With a unique collection of treatments and rituals across spa, fitness, beauty and wellbeing. Where you can unwind, invigorate and energise by empowering your body and uplifting your soul with all it deserves.
My overall experience of Explora III was the atmosphere onboard is relaxing and certainly unpretentious that will enable you to fully relax and find your own Ocean State of Mind. I would certainly go onboard as a guest within a heartbeat; particularly as Explora Journeys state maybe the best hotel in the world isn't a hotel at all.
