My recent trip to Les Deux Alpes was nothing short of incredible, exactly the kind of experience that reminds you why working in travel is so rewarding.
I travelled with Inghams, and the whole journey was seamless from start to finish. From the flights to the transfers, everything was well organised and ran smoothly, which made the experience completely stress-free and easy.
We stayed at Hotel Base Camp Lodge in one of the annex rooms. The room was modern, clean, and really comfortable, ideal after long days on the mountain. The lodge itself has a great atmosphere, with a relaxed and sociable feel, making it a great choice for both groups and couples.
Early March proved to be a fantastic time to visit. For most of the week, we had clear blue skies and sunshine, giving us amazing visibility across the mountains. The snow conditions held up really well, especially higher up on the glacier, which made it perfect for a full week of snowboarding.
I spent the week snowboarding, and Les Deux Alpes is a brilliant resort for it. The runs are long, wide, and varied, making it ideal for cruising and building confidence. There’s plenty of terrain to explore, so every day felt different.
One of the standout experiences was taking the funicular railway up to the glacier. It’s such a unique way to reach the higher slopes, travelling through the mountain and emerging right at the top. The glacier itself was incredible, with stunning views and some of the best snow conditions of the week. The wide, open runs up there were perfect for snowboarding and really made the trip memorable.
The resort also has a great atmosphere off the slopes, with a good mix of bars, restaurants, and places to relax after a full day in the mountains.
On our final day, the weather changed dramatically, and we had heavy snowfall. It was the perfect ending, waking up to fresh snow and watching the resort transform into a winter wonderland just before heading home.
Overall, this trip had everything, sunshine, great snow, fantastic accommodation, and a smooth, well-organised experience travelling with Inghams. Les Deux Alpes is a top choice for a snowboard holiday, especially if you’re looking for high-altitude skiing and reliable conditions throughout the season.
I’d highly recommend it and would definitely go back.
