All about Karen

It is an absolute privilege to return to my hometown of Cheltenham as manager of the Miles Morgan Travel branch here. I joined MMT just two years ago because I had always had a secret desire to be a travel agent, and it got to the point where it was now or never. I don’t regret my decision for a minute. I began my travel career in 2021, as the world came out of COVID, as a Product Manager designing and operating escorted heritage tours for British and US travellers across the United Kingdom.

Before moving into travel, I spent thirty years in Broadcasting working for both the BBC and ITV, so it’s been a quirky twist of fate and great sense of pride to find myself fronting some of the television and Facebook ads for Miles Morgan Travel.

As for travel, it’s a constant itch that I can never seem to fully satisfy. My bucket list changes several times a day as my clients inspire me with their travel stories as much as I hope to inspire them. Even in the time I’ve been a travel specialist with Miles Morgan Travel, I’ve managed to have some huge bucket list moments such as seeing pandas and riding a bullet train in China, seeing a tiger and magnificent forts & palaces in India, taking a hot air balloon over the fairy chimneys in Cappadocia, finally passing my PADI open water diving course in Makadi Bay in Egypt, taking the night sleeper train between Berlin and Budapest, a Disney cruise around the Med and sleeping on river cruise ships in Amsterdam.

I don’t know where I’m going next, but any dream destination today will change a dozen times before I eventually book it! This is one of the reasons I get so much joy booking trips for others as I know behind every coach trip, city break, rail journey, cruise, beach break, fly-drive, escorted tour or epic adventure which combines a bit of everything is someone’s dream they’re making come true.

I was never fond of classrooms, but travelling has always been an amazing way to deepen my understanding of the world, try new things and fill my years with unforgettable, unique adventures.

My life moto is ‘you only regret the things you didn’t do, rather than the things you did’. My mission is to make the most of my time on this fascinating and diverse planet and to help others do the same.
